It's Friday and I'm still waiting for all of those predictions and well informed columnists to report "BREAKING: Air America declares bankruptcy". What could have happened???

I sometimes avoid Dkos on particularly bad days as I don't need to get more disheartened about the state of the nation. On occasion, I have been quite harsh with my own state reps (o.k. overly harsh), but I try to get away from the meme that Democrats have no message and look for rays of hope in an otherwise blood red world.

And my hope today? It comes from trolling over at Redstate.

I am waiting to eat the biggest yummiest crow ever digitally eaten. I am waiting and damn it, I am hoping it comes soon.

I know we're not supposed to be despondant because we all knew the filibuster wouldn't work. I know we're all supposed to channel our frustration. I am told a red state (D) is better than a red state (R), but I wonder...

I live in West Virginia and as I speak I am tearing up my WV Democratic Party affiliation. I am so completely disgusted with my spineless Democratic senator that I will never drive past the Robert C. Byrd ____ ever again without spitting.

I watch with interest the growing calls within the Democratic Party for "pullout" and/or "staged withdrawal" and/or "redeployment" and wonder if the party has learned ANYTHING in the past five miserable, intolerable years of the RoveBush debasement of meaning. They are the ultimate relativists in the greatest Foucauldian sense.

Two disclaimers before someone skims the diary and misreads the meaning:

1. I am for immediate removal of the troops from Iraq.
   
2. I am critical of the Democratic Party, its platform, and its modus operandi
   
3. I equate Republicans with the end of western civilization and as vile, putrid, power-hungry, money-sucking, corrupt, hypocritical prostitutes.

Now, onto how Democrats will be blamed for Iraq's civil war…
 

Well, fresh off the victories in VA, NJ, and CA for the Dems, I already know the Republican talking points:

1. Downplay the wins - attribute Kaine to Warner. Dems can't win independently and need kabbals behind them.
   
2. Emphasize Bloomberg - expand on Dem "frustration" in that race.
   
3. By all means necessary, downplay the notion that this election MEANS ANYTHING. Its not an indicator of anything at all...how do I know? Why the MSM have parroted them, of course. More below the fold...

Could someone please explain to me what moron came up with Red=Right and Blue=Left? Was it some MSM moron with no Poly Sci or history background? For centuries the left has been red and the right has been white. Yet again, do we (USA) need to prove ourselves unique by changing things just for us (we're on imperial measure, rest of world metric). Am I wrong on this? It sickens me that Republicans embrace red. That is not their color. If we had a wider political spectrum, someone may have noticed. that the Communists and Socialists have always been associated with red.

I want red back! My face is red with rage everyday that this administration is in office. I'm not blue (depressed), I'm red.
